the govenment shouldnt have made such a big deal with SF...

they started the war..
they killed journalists...
they put LTTE thugs in parliment...

1) Govt didn't make the big deal Sf did...he ran to the intl' community every chance he got.....
2) How else can they...SF WAS making alot of noise as well....and if they didn't do in such a manner they would say govt secretly trying to do things to SF

agreed, there is a good degree of objectivity in your post. Those in power choose to make decisions which effect our country as a whole. Eventually the higher authorities have to take responsibility for what happens. Furthermore this was a cumulative situation long before SF was an issue or made to be one.

macho, you are completely wrong here. The Economist didn't make this list according to what people had to say about Sri Lanka. This list was made according to a certain criteria. Stability, healthcare, education, infrastructure, culture and environment are those areas which they looked at to make this list. As we all understand, all of these should be provided to the country by the government. So the government is directly responsible for Colombo being the 9th worst city to live in in the world.......
