It's not about the performance did you even bother to read his post, it's the maintenance cost. Unlike those 110s and 121s which can be maintained and repaired by any makabass with a minimal knowledge, 406s should be maintained by a Peugeot specialist or you'll end up with a lemon. Even the ladies saloons at Panchi carry parts for 110s and 121s for dirt cheap while parts for 406s will cost you a rather high amount (in comparison).

Carmart (agents) will provide maintenance/service free for 4 years

but that's the (weird) SL market.
It's the market to be blamed, not the "TOYOTA".

some ppl take the chance and make some money out of it
when there's a demand you should supply if you can. there's nothing wrong with that.

p.s. not only in Sri Lanka toyota has a better resale value in many countries.
