Transit of Planet Venus
A rare transit of planet Venus which occurs only twice in 100 years will be witnessed on June 6 with the sun rise, the Sir Arthur C Clark center announced.The movement will be visible to Sri Lanka and it is called the 'Transit of Venus 2012". During the transit Venus would be passing directly between earth and the sun. The last Venus transit was in 2004.
The planet will be visible a small dot passing the sun. The Venus transit will take place again in 2117 and in 2125, the Center said.

මෙම දුර්ලභ ග්රහ පිහිටීම ‘සිකුරු සංක්රාන්තිය’නමින් හඳුන්වනු ලැබේ.
මෙම ග්රහ පිහිටීම පොළොවේ සිට නිරීක්ෂණය කරන විට සිකුරු ග්රහ ලෝකය සූර්යාගේ මතුපිට හරහා ගමන් කරනවාක් මෙන් පෙනෙනු ඇත.
මෙයට පෙර සිකුරු සංක්රාන්තිය 2004වසරේ පෘථිවි වාසීන්ට දැකගත හැකිවූ අතර නැවත එය ජනතාවට දැකගත හැකි වනුයේ ලබන ශතවර්ෂයේ 2117 සහ 2125 යන වර්ෂවලදී බව ආතර් සී ක්ලාක් මධ්යස්ථානය වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.
