4)Apply A Proxy (This temporarily changes your IP address)
5)Start Downloading with the spare proxy
6)Repeat 4 & 5 for the next file

Multiple IP Trick To Get Past Rapidshare's IP Restrictions

Hope this helps some of you who are having some serious issues with Rapidshare's restrictions. It's allowed me to download up to 6 files at a time as a free user (it would be more if I had a better internet connection).

Rapidshare's check works by looking at your IP before your download can start. This tutorial will give you a spare IP to pass the check.

Setting up the proxy takes a little effort but you only need to do it once and then downloading multiple files will only take a couple of clicks.

What You Need To Download Multiple Files

Mozilla Firefox (just give it a try, you won't regret it)

Switchproxy Toolbar

Tutorial Begins

1 - Download and install the Switchproxy Toolbar
Once done Mozilla should look like this

If it doesn't appear check what toolbars you are displaying

2 - Add A Working Proxy
You won't be able to do this until you have a proxy to add (see post 2 for how to get one)
Click the add button on the toolbar. A Popup will appear, check Anonymous and click next

Then complete all the little boxes in the order shown, finally saving your proxy

3 - Using Your Proxy (Spare IP Address)
As your proxy server might be a little slow I advise navigating to the RS download page first without it.

When you get to the "already downloading a file" select your spare proxy and get ready to apply it.

CAUTION: WHEN YOU CLICK APPLY MOZILLA WILL RUN ALL ITS WEBPAGES THROUGH THIS PROXY SERVER FOR AS LONG AS IT IS APPLIED. DO NOT ACCESS ANY SENSITIVE INFOMATION (E.G. ONLINE BANKING) THROUGH FIREFOX WHILST THE PROXY SERVER IS APPLIED

As I was saying, select the spare proxy and click apply, the page should refresh automatically or you can simply refresh it yourself.

4 - Cross Your Fingers (Especially In The Evening)

Hopefully nobody else will be trying your new proxy server and you'll get a RS download ticket. Sadly, this might not be the case and you might need to wait, I just jot down the time I need to wait for and try the server again later.

If your new proxy server is busy I advise applying another proxy server until you find a free one (or you could just wait)

When you finally get the download ticket make sure your external download manager won't automatically start the download. The download IP has to match the proxy so you need to select Mozilla's 'Save To' option and use the Mozilla internal download manager. As soon as the download begins you can change your proxy back to 'None', apply it and go back to surfing the internet without a proxy server, your download will continue. Or you could switch to another proxy server and start another download (it won't interrupt your current one)

Again, i'll stress that you must check the Status button on the Switchproxy toolbar has gone back to 'Using No Proxy' before you go back to standard browsing (or all your data will be going through a random proxy server)
