Ubuntu,linux mint,knoppix help

    The Debian based distros you tried does not have the drivers of your sata controller. Try PCLinuxOS or Fedora on your PC.

    Or , if the sata controller has an IDE mode, change it to IDE mode and try the Debian based distros.

    You Mean ubuntu does not support sata?
    In that case what os types can I use?:confused:
    Cant I even run knoppix or linux mint:baffled:

    READ what I've said earlier. Ubunu/Linux mint/Knoppix supports most sata controllers but doesnt have the sata drivers of YOUR sata controller.
    As for what you can try, again READ what I've said earlier. I've suggested 2 other Linux distros you can try.

    Hey guys just wanted to let you know that my problem is now solved.kosandpol was correct and am now running fedora on my system.Thanks to everyone who helped me with this problem.(especially gayan kalhara for his advice)
