Ubuntu is Cool, Powerful. You can Customize it lot. 8.10 have new Features for PPPOE.. But it will be Easy if you used UbuDSL for installing Modem

if you have Nero, just open it (as Nero supports *.iso files, you can open it if you haven't another ISO associated program)

then give lowest Speed to burs (such as 16X, 24X) & Burn it

    That's it!!

on. that's the wrong way. Select the 'DISK IMAGE OR SAVED PROJECT' option and select the ubuntu ISO file that you downloaded and burn that.

Double click on you Image file,
    niskt1.jpg

Nero will automatically open 'CD/DVD Image Burning Window'
then set Burning setting as follows specially Writing Speed to lower speed [1] & click Burn [2]

how did you get this kind of window?

did you Extract the Image (*.iso) file using WinRAR or something?

go to Control Panel --> Folder Options & go to View tab,
then remove the Tic in 'Hide Extensions for known file types'
    foloptvw.jpg

then go to your download folder & find the ISO file like this
    isoext.jpg

then Double click to Open it
