Several trade unions and other organizations who have come together under the theme ‘Rally against Imperialism’ yesterday warned that with the way in which government was handling the current international crisis, there could be a certainty for economic sanctions against the Sri Lankan government.
K.D Lal Kantha, President ,National Trade Union Centre said at a news conference that there is a certainty for economic sanctions with the way the government was handling the present crisis.
He further referred that various statements that have been made by the Ministers with regard to the present crisis and the suggestions that have been made by some government officials that diplomatic missions of the unfriendly nations should be closed down.
