UNP parliamentarian Lakshman Seneviratne told parliament yesterday he had no mind to forgive the LTTE, which killed so many of Sri Lanka’s leaders.
He said the UNP had lost a number of leaders including Gamini Dissanayake when he was campaigning for the presidency.
“How can we forgive the LTTE and assuage our conscience at the same time,” he asked.
Mr. Seneviratne requested the government to capture Kilinochchi quickly without dragging its feet.
“The government is continuously talking about taking Kilinochchi. Enough is enough. It is high time the area is captured,” he said. Mr. Seneviratne emphasized the need to evolve a political solution to the longstanding ethnic crisis confronting this country and criticized the budget which he said would lead the country into a massive debt.
