Virtusa won't be pegging to USD. Heard from a friend that they said they won't peg to USD but will give a raise to adjust to the inflation.

There is no reason why any company earning in USD can't do this. Let's take a hypothetical situation to explain this

eg:
You used to bill 4000 USD to your clients and used to pay 300,000 to your dev. So when the exchange rate was Rs 200, you earned 800,000 as a company and gave 300,000 to the dev
Billed value = 4000 USD = 800,000 LKR
Dev pay = 300,000LKR = 1500 USD
Company income/gain = 500,000LKR = 2500 USD

Now you still bill 4000 USD, and the exchange rate is Rs 300~ so as a company you gain 1,200,000.
Billed value = 4000 USD = 1,200,000LKR
Dev pay = 300,000 LKR = 1000 USD
Company income/gain = 900,000LKR = 3000 USD

400,000 LKR without doing anything but just because the economy and exchange rate got shitty. If you are pocketing this difference with no remorse you as a company suck ass.

Edit: Adding in the calculation for a company with pegged salaries to make it clearer.

Billed Value = 400USD = 1,2000,000 LKR
Initial Dev pay package = 300,000LKR = 1500 USD~
Dev pay with exchange rate = 1500 USD x 300 = 450,000 LKR
Company income/gain = 750,000 LKR = 2500 USD (same as before but a gain in local context)

^Here the exchange rate gain is divided between both the dev and the company and is way better than pocketing the whole thing for your gain
