Using Paypal from Sri Lanka - Please help!

I have a few concerns.

Is it possible to open a paypal account in sri lanka? I'm asking this because the last time I used ebay (about 2 years back), the service was still unavailable here.

What are the requirements? Is a local bank account sufficient? Can it be any bank/branch?

Can you use the account to receive money as well, in addition to paying?

Many thanks in advance. Need to know soon.

Ssudaraka, will you be able to provide that in a different font? Because all I'm seeing are tiny boxes, but thanks anyway!

pissuda halo... in amazon ther r 3 delivary options. the 1st is the cheapest (around 20 dollars)... but it takes almost 1 month so people dont use it much.. 2nd is a bit faster (lyk it will arive in abt 2 or 3 weeks) and it costs a little higher than the 1st.

3rd is DHL or wotever itz calld.. itz rely fast. i ordered my book (HP7) using diz 1 coz i jst cudnt wait til d book arrived.;) the cost f d book was 17$ but when it arrived here the total was around 60$ ... still no worries coz it was HP7!!! lol

Edit: it is free delivary if u r livin in US.

Dont use alertpay they will delay your cheques giving various excuses. At the moment im stuck with a payment of 200usd its more than a month, which has stil nt been processed and as a matter im occuring a great loss. Dont get caught to them

Just curious, why'd you order it from Amazon for $60, when it was available here on the original release date for half that price?

Thanks for the replies guys, yah just found out that paypal is only available for sending payments only. Maybe in another two years they will allow us to receive payments as well. I have something to sell online, but getting payments is a headache. Western Union turns off buyers *pouts*

They give u an atm card where u can withdraw cash from paypal account here in any cirrus network atms. If anybody using it pls give ur comments.
