    1.FREE Data for Instant Messaging throughout Valentine’s Day ?​

    Yes! Mobitel would be Freelisting below instant messaging applications to our beloved customers throughout 2021.02.14 (Valentine’s Day)
    1. WhatsApp
    2. Viber
    3. IMO
    4. Facebook Messenger
    5. Telegram
    All the protocols would be whitelisted with regard to aforementioned Apps.
    • Instant Messaging
    • Voice Calls
    • Video Calls
    • File Share (Uploads/Downloads)
    • Status Viewing

    2. Are there any speed limits or data limits on these Applications?​

    There are no any speed or data limits. All apps would receive the highest speeds available without any data limits.

    3. What will happen if you already have activated Mobitel Instant Messaging plan?​

    Instant Messaging Plan would not be effective on this day. All WhatsApp, Viber and IMO usage would be in effect with Valentine’s Offer. This means, whenever a customer use WhatsApp, Viber and IMO on Valentine’s Day, the Instant Messaging 5GB 4G FUP would not be utilized.

    4. What will happen if you already have already activated Mobitel Social Networking plan?​

    Facebook Messenger usage on Social Networking Plan would not be effective on this day. All FB Messenger usage would be in effect with Valentine’s Offer. This means, whenever a customer use FB Messenger on Valentine’s day, the Social Networking 8GB 4G FUP would not be utilized.

    5. Can you enjoy this offer if you have Zero credit balance or No Data?​

    This depends whether the SIM can be connected to DATA. If your account had been in suspend mode for several days, DATA would not connect. If DATA is not getting connected, you will have to bring the status to active using a reload. Then the offer can be enjoyed.

    6. Can this offer be enjoyed if an excess usage control is in effect in a Postpaid connection?​

    You Will have to remove excess usage control in order to enjoy the offer. Advised to activated an Add-On to avoid excess charges if you remove excess usage control.

    7. Would the 3rd party apps which are embedded into aforementioned apps also get Free-listed?​

    There are several 3rd party apps which are embedded to Instant Messaging Apps, such as Bing Live which is embedded to IMO. These applications would NOT receive the offer. Only the Core IM application would be free listed.

    8. What if you observe that normal data is being utilized while using the Free Listed Instant messaging applications?​

    This can happen due to Background apps. Background applications are processes that run in the background of the device while you are using any particular App.
    Eg – If you are on a WhatsApp Video call, there will be several of background processes which would be active to keep the overall process running (DNS, Google Analytics, Google Play services, System updates Etc.)
    There is no way the operator (Mobitel) can limit these background apps. But customer can limit these processes on device’s settings. Device Settings will vary from device and model.
