This is for the people who are going to Start/Develop a Forum with Vbulletin. I have gained some knowledge and planning to share it. Request any mod, addon, widget here. I'll put my effort to find it out for you.

I recommend you to buy a VPS (Virtual Private Server) at the beginning. If you can't afford that much then go for an unlimited web hosting plan (Most of the hosting providers allow you to use 1% of the total RAM of the server. So it is not sufficient for a forum). So best thing is a VPS. As your community grows up buy a Dedicated server.

Register a domain name tooooooo

Go to www.vbulletin.com and purchase your copy of Vbulletin.
Version 4.0.3 is available and purchase it.

You can use a null version also but better to be genuine.

Follow the instructions and install the script.

Set permissions. (Ask if you have any prob)
Install Products, addons, widgets as u need them. (Step by step instructions will be provided later)
Install styles and enjoy

If u need a Facebook type chatbar in your forum........

Follow easy steps to get that job done.

Number of scripts are available for this.

I prefer cometchat and Aroowchat (Arrowchat gives you the experience of Facebook chat)

Google them and purchase them from official sites.
Follow the instructions and do it. (Note that for arrow chat u have to use a subdomain)

Null versions are also available (Request if u want)

Best thing is DownloadsII

DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin

Follow the instructions and install it. Set permissions. (Request it if u want)

You can add DownloadsII widgets to show latest downloads and Most popular downloads in CMS. (Request it if u want).
