Vedana pachchaya Tanha...

The cause of attachment is Sensation...

You are attached to the sensation created by something inside or out
side.

If you are aware that Sensations change from moment to moment to what
you can be attached.

To practice this follow this Vipssana technique.

www.dhamma.org

It is a ten-day residential course.. From morning 4.30 to 9pm..
continuous Meditation sessions with instructions. First 3 days
Anapana sati, next 6 Days Vedananupassana (being aware of sensations -
the change from moment to moment, systamatically) and 10th day Metta.

There are Centers around the world.

Visit the website and find out more.

If you try to understand it intellectually, better to read somme
book. For it will be wasting time.

Search for it if you are ready to practice. To understand a course
you have to sit for it.

There after you would know how do you become attached.

It is not the object but the sensation created by it.

If the sensation is pleasent you are attached to it positively. If
the sensation is unpleasent you become attached to something which
helps to avoid or escape it. This is suffering.

And there is a lot more to it which you can find in a Tenday
Vipassana course while experiencing.

Best of luck.

    Bohoma pin mithura :)

    Pinwath mithurani,

What if when the vedana is neither pleasant nor unpleasant (adukkamasukha)?
Will it help elimination of Thanha?
What does Dhamma says about that?
Does not this hint that we need to know correctly what disclosed by sammasambuddha gautama?

It's always prudent to follow the Path correctly...
always verifying what we experience against 'dhamma'...
because our mind is avijjasahagatha all the time (until we complete the Path)...
because it's ourselves that we risk otherwise...

In general, we should make sure what we practice develops
shraddha, sila, sutha, chaga, panna in us...
shraddha, hriri, otthappa, viriya, panna in us...
shraddha, viriya, sathi, samadhi, panna in us...

    Theruwan saranai!
