When it comes to Accidents and Claims all insurance are the same. I have not taken from SLIC but others;

Its not easy and they make it so difficult to get claims. The way the agent says it does not work. Currently I have Ceylinco and they dont have any garage like Janasakthi. So you need to find one and when you get an estimate from Allianz Full insurance Auto centre which is garage owned by Janasakthi they say its black listed by them and they will not approve. When you sign the policy they never tell what garages are black listed but when you get estimate they say its black listed you cannot put your car for repairs.

One will put there vehicle in a place that is responsible and genuine and not in places that will lift parts. So we need to take the responsibility and they cannot force us where to send. Like that each insurance company has their way to prevent the claim going.

I have Ceylinco too and getting claims from them has been a breeze so far, I just turned the car in to the authorized agent, they provided an estimate which Ceylinco approved with no fuss, got the repair done and Ceylinco paid the bill. For small damages like this I just claim OTS, for this bit they paid 9000.00 within 20 mins of the accident

You are lucky, may be they give on the spot for individual claim, i have my front buffer and side damaged due to 3 wheel cutting across the lane, no damage to the 3 Wheel but side of my front buffer and top of that has major damage. Quotation was for 145k but they approved 96k. This includes change of front buffer and front light. Then in the rear buffer another damage pending approval. All because they say the repair place is black listed. How can they black list a repair place since its we who put the vehicle to repair so its our responsibility.

There is a market rate for repair work, depending on the grade of the garage. Therefore, the garages who overcharge, who does wrongful acts, who does unethical stuff etc, do get black listed from the insurance companies. The reason could be vary, and there is a blacklist of garages, agents, spare parts providers so and so, is available with insurance company. The list could vary from one to another. Therefore, it is always better to check with the insurance company whether your selected garage is in the approved list, if not whether it is not in the black list.
