Overall, I am very impressed with what Microsoft has done with Windows 7 and gaming performance. Unlike the previous OS transition that caused a lot of headaches due to the driver model change, Windows 7 seems to be not only keeping up with Vista but actually out performing it when pitted head to head. Both NVIDIA and AMD seem to be taking a proactive stance with Windows 7 support as well but it is AMD that is first out of the gate with a unified driver package and a promise to continue Windows 7 driver development on a monthly basis. Gamers with AMD graphics cards will love to hear that they can now safely try out Windows 7 on their gaming machine without losing a drop of performance.

As I said earlier, expect to see much more from PC Perspective in regards to Windows 7 performance; not only for gaming but for storage, applications, chipsets and more.

Seems this problem only with nvidia cards. Cuz there is a little FPS increment in ATI cards with win 7. Even running with Catalyst 9.3 (Non Win 7 compatible Drivers - Official win 7 release is 9.6 AFAIK)
nvidia might fix this problem with their future Driver issue

This is a Test of a Beta Version of Windows 7 using Early VGA Drivers, Vista Drivers are much more mature, Have you even used Windows 7 mate, I have used about 3 builds All the way from Beta, RC 2, and RTM, I got to say Windows 7 is now even faster than XP let alone Vista, and from the benchmarks I have run, Gaming Performance is mostly Identical or slightly faster on Windows 7 compared to Windows XP, and is almost always faster than Vista SP2, Remember you need a fair Amount of RAM to properly experience the full performance of Windows 7, because it uses a Radically different approach to manage memory than other versions of Windows, specially XP. Windows 7 has come a Long way from its early beta stage and so is the Graphics drivers, Dont just look at others Reviews and say Win 7 is no better than Vista, try it ur self and see.
