    U mean u did install it on windows 7 ? :)

Try to install visual studio s/w package rather than install VC++ alone.

Well thats im gonna try now :)

u can install VS2010 and convert tht project to run in 2010 try it

Guys Im newbie to the C++ world who dont knw a damn thing. The reason I go for the rotten old version is that our university uses the same version on Xp

And I did try 2010 already but for me the layout is totally different and and some coding methods such as
    <iostream> instead of <iostream.h> on VS6.0

Anyway Im gonna try installing the software package this time
    :)

machan this Visual Studio 6.0 is a damn old version. It was released in 1998 or so... y do u want to use such an old version? :oo: even when installin VS 2005 on Windows 7 it generates a warning msg sayin there are compatibility issues ( eventhough it perfectly works )

    So try on a newer version :) ( VS 2008 or 2010 )

Windows 7 comes with MS Virtual server right ? no need to use 3rd party virtualization software..

u just try on a newer version and dnt wry much about those header files n all, u can learn the difference by googling..
the rest of the code should be the same.. ;)

Is that a software or are you saying the same of that compatibility setting

    OR

install a virtual machine software, and run VC++ 6.0 on Windows XP
