VOIP Banned !!! ???

mchan I heard that in UAE, Oman and some of the Middle east countries have blocked the VOIP

THey have blocked Skype, Vyke Cold ...and all the PC to Phone websites ? does anyone know how they do this ? I want to know the thoery behind this ?can they block voice only? pls advice

i think voip's r banned in SL also

when i called dialog customer service last week they also told me that voip's cant use in SL as per the regulations.

actually its pretty easy to block it. Its the same as how tamilnet is blocked in SL. Same principle is used , only not just port 80 but all ports to the skype IPs.
If they want to block only voice, that can be done too once you know what ports are used for skype voice.
