Kumar Sangakkara listed for ICC People's Choice Award.
Five cricketers, including former Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara, were listed for the second edition of ICC's 'People's Choice Awards' today(28).
ICC's People list includes South African batsman Hashim Amla, Chris Gayle of West Indies, Indian captain MS Dhoni and England's rising score machine Jonathan Trott along with Sanga.
The list appointed and nominated by Elite panel of Cricket experts. The panel headed by Former world cup winning captain Clive Lloyd, along with former South African spinner Paul Adams, former New Zealand pacemen Danny Morrison & Pakistan's Zaheer Abbas.
"The LG ICC Awards is now a prestigious event in the cricketing calendar and we are delighted that fans will again be able to have their say on who should win one of the awards in 2011," Said ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat.
The winner will selected by a poll, and Cricket fans around the world will privilege to vote their favorite star. Voting will be closed on 25th August at 11.00GMT/16.30 Sri Lanka Time and the winner will be announced on September 12th at LG ICC Awards, London.
Indian Batting wizard Sachin Tendulkar won title at the inaugural LP Peoples ICC wards last year.
