What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
I went swimming in a mountain lake that I knew had water snakes in it! I had been hiking all day and I was hot, tired, and dusty. I just wanted to quickly jump in and get refreshed. So, I looked around and didn't see any snakes. I decided to swim out to a big boulder in the middle of the lake to rest and relax in the sun. As soon as I put my hand up on the rock, two large snakes quickly slithered by my hand and jumped into the water. I was so freaked out! Needless to say, it took me a while to get my courage up to get back in that water and swim to shore.
If you could have lunch with any one (1) person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Al Gore. I would love to sit and have lunch with Al Gore because he singlehandedly has brought the crisis of global warming to our attention. Through his book and movie, An Inconvenient Truth, he has motivated the entire world to be better stewards of our earth. I admire his passion, dedication, and vision to make a difference for all of us. I was fortunate enough to hear him speak in my hometown about his new book,The Assault On Reason, and it would make for a very interesting lunch to meet with someone who is so inspirational and a natural leader.

What would be your "dream job" in life?
My dream job would be one that allows me to incorporate my talents of working with people, visual media, and music.
Name one personal accomplishment (IN ADDITION to being a State Titleholder) that makes you especially proud.
I am really proud that I made the Honor Roll at my school. I had so many more responsibilities this year and I wasn't sure that I would be able to juggle them all and keep up my GPA. I learned that by focusing on my goals and working really hard, I could accomplish things that I was worried about and doubted that I could do.

What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
Hunted rattlesnakes. I've learned how to hunt, milk, and correctly hold a rattlesnake at the annual Rattlesnake Round-up held in Georgia. These round-ups collect venom and deliver it to the American Cancer Society's labs for research and treatment. This is especially interesting to me because I've worked with ACS over the past eight years and raised $84,000 for cancer research.
If you could have lunch with any one (1) person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Walt Disney. He was a very creative person. I would ask him where he found his inspiration for some of the Disney classics. Like Mr. Disney, I enjoy making kids happy.

Having my own 501(c)3 non-profit organization through which I hold pageants for children with cancer and serious illnesses across the United States. My pageant is important because everyone leaves a winner. In my eyes -- no matter if they are bald, pale, or thin -- they are all beautiful to me.

What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
In a fitness class, I competed in a “push-up competition.” Over 200 high school students were involved, including several guys from my high school's Varsity Football team. Soon, I was the last girl competing against 40 guys remaining. My arms were killing me, but being the only girl left in the competition, my determination set in. To everyone's shock, I won the entire thing! I realized that it was the craziest thing I had ever done when my arms were useless for an entire week.

Mary J. Blige. I would love to have lunch with Mary J. Blige. We have a shared passion for helping young girls. She has used her notoriety to bring a positive message to those who need it. She's real, has had it tough, made mistakes, made positive changes, and now she infuses hope into thousands of young girls. I admire her faith, values, and selfless attitude. She also is an amazing talent!

Name one personal accomplishment (IN ADDITION to being a State Titleholder) that makes you especially proud.
Last summer, I organized and directed a charity golf tournament. The event raised over $70,000 for two charities in Alaska. This experience was stretching and rewarding. I was in charge of everything from volunteers, obtaining sponsors, branding, advertising, decorating, and hours of office work. It was like a full time job, but it all paid off when the charities received the funds. The organizations are having such a profound impact on helping disadvantaged individuals in my community and I was honored to be a part of it.

What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
I am terrified, and I mean terrified of roller coasters. This summer my friends somehow convinced me to go to Six Flags in Denver. After some major talking into, I actually rode every roller coaster one time, sitting in the very front seat. For me, this was pretty crazy, but looking back on it definitely worth it!

Princess Diana. Princess Di was such an inspirational woman. While in her leadership position she truly used her title to make incredible contributions. I admire her for her many acts of kindness and make an effort to continue her legacy. She visited sick children all around the world. I visit sick children in my local hospitals. She was a woman who understood that she was in a privileged situation and that meant it was her duty to reach out to those who looked up to her. She is quoted saying, "Only do what your heart tells you." And I would be proud to tell her where my heart has led me this year.
