මෙකෙ solar panel නැහැ. බලය එන්නේ න්‍යෂ්ටික ප්‍රතික්‍රියාකරකයකින් (Radioisotope thermoelectric generator). solar system එලියට යවන එකකට solar panel දාලා යවන්න NASA එක මෝඩ නෑ.

I didn't know that. but how did NASA knows instruments performed better without heaters?
If the instruments work well without heaters why NASA want to re-start heaters?
Engineers who designed this has made this to last. Once you send it to space, there is absolutely nothing can be done for any hardware failure. Even a slight control misstep will make it gone forever.
Kudos to engineers who kept this running for so long.

Not every instrument. Some of them. It's the S/N ratio. I read about this in NASA Voyager pages quite a while ago. If I remember right it could be the Spectrometer. Also the Voyager 2, PSI heaters were cut off (Plasma Science Instrument). It's no longer quite useful as it's purpose ended as the Voyager left the Heliosphere but the engineers made compensatory adjustments to the data sent and continued to use it.
