Karuna sees prolonged conflict in Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan troops face another 18 months of fighting even after they have all LTTE territory under their control, a former rebel has warned.
The man known as "Colonel Karuna," who led an unprecedented split in the movement in 2004, says the Tigers will revert to guerrilla warfare after they lose control of the small enclave they still occupy.
"I think it will take at least another one to one-and-a-half years for the army to entirely clear the north of terrorists," Karuna said in an interview with AFP inside a heavily-guarded hideout in Colombo.

U mean that war will go on forever? I don't whether mahinda is cheating or not. Even if he cheats, how can he keep lying forever! But I don't hope that he cheats (not sure). However War will be finished in this year. If not, it'd be a big surprise.

I always thought about the war that way, and I genuinely thought I am wrong all the time.

LTTE can easily mix-up with the Tamil civilians they are keeping as hostages. Then come out as innocent Tamil civilians. And then re-group after a while. Meanwhile Prabha will go to another country and carry-out his propaganda with the support of a few Tamil leaders around the world. After a while Prabha or his son Charles can easily re-group after the regime of Sarath Fonseka, Gotabhaya, Mahinda.
[Again I pray that I will be wrong....]

That's why I was telling all the time that the war is not the only solution. It has to be a political solution with a win-win negotiation.

However, I wonder why LTTE people like to die for Praba?

My grand-ma told me that one of praba's friends had been killed by a SL solider. That's why praba started a war with us. I don't whether this is true.

I don't think so mate. Prabha got most of what he wanted.

He was a "Sakkiliya" by his cast. And Tamils consider their cast a lot. So if there was no war, Prabha might have been cleaning the toilets of the rich people.

So he started his fight to gain better prospects. He got it. He got good food, good status, prestige, his son studied in a foreign university about Aeronautical engineering etc. So he got most of what he wanted I guess. (Which he couldn't get if there was no war)
