    Pinwath mithurani,

This is a lecture by a distinguish scholar at University of California. He's trying to present on "Buddhism in a Global Age of Technology"....

Please do not treat it as Dhamma; I am posting it here to show how scientific community is trying to analyze Buddhism; compare with scientific findings...

This is not an attempt to look down upon those in west trying to follow Buddhism (there are/should be many good Buddhists in the west; we should appreciate how they do that despite lack of access and presence of conflicting teachings...)

Many of them would probably keep on appreciating Buddhism... but without gaining anything from Dhamma...
Because unfortunately Buddhism they see/come across is not pure...
so they have a little chance to make use of Dhamma... See how fortunate we are...

We should never try to justify Buddhism with science... Buddhism can be justified though ourselves when we realize Dhamma...

    Theruwan saranai!

But, inadvertantly may be, they practice better Dhamma than some of our "DIE HARD" Buddhists who have first hand access to "Pure" Buddhism,

Thanx for sharing this info Bro

Yes, my post seemed to look down upon those in west...
I've edited the original post a bit; now it should be better... thanks :)

Yes, too bad not many of them get Buddhism in original form (most of the time)...

Despite the lack of access to Dhamma; there are really good Buddhists among westerners... :)

    Theruwan saranai!

This post is really good but as you've mentioned "We should never try to justify Buddhism with science... Buddhism can be justified though ourselves when we realize Dhamma...", what many people here try to do so..

    Thank you.

It's good you highlighted that :)

One does not need other things to justify Dhamma; it is perfectly/well disclosed (swakkato bhagavatha damma)...
