Great!! Thanx for the info! Been waiting for sometime too!!

MAN.. where the HELL is StarCraft II :(

There was a time I didn't like them either.. You can take a different approach.. read the story first.. and follow the story.. that will keep you in it!! (if the story is good enough it might just give you that kick start :) )

Company of heros changed my mind.Up to that no stratagy game kiked my A*s

Yeah you should.. what do you have to loose? It's NOT like we buy the *PIRATED* games and regret later!!:lol::lol:;)

Actually MOST people does not like Strategy because you can't just jump in and play unlike 1st person shooters, in FPS's basically you just shoots and blasts pretty much all the way... more or less the same thing.. (most of the time ;) )

But strategy is not just mainly hand to eye coordination it requires some skillful thinking too.. and planning.. for example games like StarCraft even though the story is the same the way you achieve your objectives is totally up to you! THAT'S SOMETHING NICE ABOUT STRATEGY GAMES!

Coinsidance!!!!!!

Best game i have ever played is half life 1.
It had a fun factor for me 100% way back in 2000.
Graphics wise it was in Crysis caliber considering game was out not in 2007 but in 1999.
HL2 also good.
My ratings for HL
HL1 100%
HL1 Blue shift 85%
HL2 90%
HL2 episode 1 85% episode 2 90%

:D

Ofcourse I too consider still that Half-Life 1 is the near perfect (if not the most perfect) FPS game of all time.. because of so many things that it bought to the world of FPS!

Before playing Half-Life we've only seen such stories in Movies :lol: And I think playing HL1 made everybody as if they are in a movie.. the feeling was amazing! The people who develop the series must be really talented and creative bunch.. every time they publish a Half-Life version they bring in totally different things into the table!

Hey.. Blue Shift was a bit too short  but the thing is the guard/player Barney Calhoun actually do all this drama in the Black Mesa facility concurrently to Gordon Freeman  In fact when playing Blue Shift at one moment you will see the guards dragging unconscious Freeman (which is a part of the 1st Half-Life:lol:) NICE THINKING HA?

Bro

I am so much amused with your memory. you said " when playing Blue Shift at one moment you will see the guards dragging unconscious Freeman "

That part of the game is the dream moment of blue shift isn't it?I was thrilled to heaven when i played that particular part .I still remember it some time back in 2001.
Before starting blue shift i finished Gun man Chronicles. It s a half life clone but could n't deliver the high standards.

Valve's best achievement is HL 1.

Most of the gamers start gaming with FPS.That's because of instant action.
Some gamers starting with Strategy straightaway.Old days I think 50% of it due to low system requirements.Games like Age of Empire was installed almost every gamers pc those days regardless of VGA they had.
Now a days it cant be true because Strategy games also demanding higher requirements.

My definition of gamers mind involvement!

Racing --->FPS---->Action Adventure--> RPG --->Puzzle Solving----->Strategy

Left For Dead AI

AI and the Director
The artificial intelligence of Left 4 Dead features a dynamic system for game dramatics, pacing, and difficulty called the "Director". Instead of set spawn points for enemies, the Director places enemies in varying positions and numbers based upon each player's current situation, status, skill and location, creating a new experience each playthrough. The Director also creates mood and tension with emotional cues such as visual effects, dynamic music and character communication
