Shall i suggest some tweaks to lift the frame rate bro.
11.85fps is not playable at all.
Set the render quality to low
reduce the resolution to 800*600
Does it support Anti aliasing? then set it 2x,then 800*600 will not be that bad.
CPU usage is just 51%.God!!! shame on Rockstar.they are not utilizing the full dual core ,even though they boasted about a quad core utilization for their recommended settings

85 is a good refresh rate if your moniter supports it.

try this also ,if it does not contain a AA setting.
Go to nvcontrol panel and manualy ajust the AA setting to 2x.
Some games are forced to use the globle setting of NV control panel.
But dont know this game will use it.

This is a guide for those who getting game crash during in game. This solution should work on all game clients , whether its steam or non-steam. There are also some additional notes for hosting game.

P.S. This guide does also work for whoever having problem on hosting or joining game.

You're reminded to backup your steam_appid.txt , left 4 dead.exe and engine.dll before doing this.

1. Browse your game folder and search for steam_appid.txt which is located in your [Drive]:\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead . Change the value from 500 to 501 in the steam_appid.txt and save it after the value is being changed.


2. You've to be sure that the steam_appid.txt is set to read-only. It can be done by right clicking your steam_appid.txt and choose properties, the option should be there.


3. Download and replace the left 4 dead.exe in your game folder, its placed in [Drive]:\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead. The download link can be found below.


4. Extract and replace the engine.dll that is included in the compressed file which being uploaded by me , to your Bin folder. The engine.dll can be found in [Drive]:\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead\bin

Eventually, you should be able to play the game without any hitch. Happy killing zombies , you dunderhead.
