It means I am a person who's family comes from a spanish speaking country but was born in the US. it's like when we say here Asian American. that would be someone whose family has roots in asia but they themselves were born in america. Like, Jeremy Lin for example.

after i posted the original post click the 2nd wikipedia link and it contains an article about Hispanic and Latino Americans. so i edited my original post. Anyway thank you for your explanation. forgive me if i sound rude whats your connection to sri lankans or Sinhalese. why are you interested in learning Sinhalese. I'm really curious to know first i thought your mother or father should be a sri lankan it seems like they are not.

    not bad

How was it. People say it's a really good book but they also said that about Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist which I didn't like. How would you compare this to The Alchemist? I've heard they are similar in some ways.

It's good, i think it's over-rated though, its an easy read, not rewarding much. and not easy to relate to because of the context, prose are nice, characters are flawed so feels natural. sometimes feel cheesy and a little too far fetched.

And it's much better than the alchemist, which i hated absolutely. I wasn't regretting the money i spent when i was done reading like i was after reading alchemist

so all in all, kite runner isnt a book id remember or wait to think about in another week..
