Here's my cents, as for right now there are only 2 players worthy of being captain of Team Sri Lanka, its either has to be Mahela or Sanga.. as far as I see there's no one else that fits the bill...
So the problem with Mahela is his poor form, but other than that from the last 3 ODI series we faced we managed to win 2 and loose 1, stats are stats if you argue that Mahela should be sacked from the captaincy based on the stats that he has only gotten fewer runs, then you should also see the stats that he actually managed to pull some series wins even though he is going through a tough time!!!
Dont forget that even though we loose horribly against India (all credit to Indians) we are still the Asian Champs.. which we got under the captaincy of Mahela
We all just LOVE our Cricket.. I think you should feel a punch when we loosing if not I dont consider you are normal
Some of you maybe very disheartened the fact that the way Sri Lanka loosing at home, believe me I really feel the same.. perhaps more than you guys (I'm paying to watch Cricket here
) So it is natural that ya'll feel its all Mahela's fault but I strongly believe Mahela deserves our support a bit more...
In the last match against India if you have seen the those 3 fours he hit in the single over (Ishant I think) you should realize the class of him there's no more evidence needed they were no POL ADI, pure batting.. sure he got out for a 30 that's just because 360 is impossible to get
other than that.. that 30 had a lot of authority in it, if you really know what I mean!
We kept Jayasuriya for long long time even he perfomed really badly for the past few years, but now the man is playing like he did back in 1996
so I guess Mahela is down.. but definitely not OUT..
I personally believe this is the time Sri Lanka captain need his fan's support the most, I say we give him a bit more time.. he deserve it..
IF he did not come good.. I think the best solution is to hand over the ODI captaincy to Sanga and keep Mahela as Test skipper!
