What do you think about the availability of mental health support in Sri Lanka?

I feel sorry for AnuradhaRa

He seems not good at social interactions. Maybe he has Autism.

Also he believes he has ADHD.

In a developed country like where I live, I am personally aware that a person like him would get psychiatric, emotional and financial support from the government and the generosity of the people.

In contrast here we see him being labelled, condemned and isolated.

When he says he wants to suicide, some people here made utterly disgusting comments as if they are not humans, without providing him with emotional support as a community.

And there seems to be no tax payer funded organisations for him to turn into in order to get psychiatric and financial support.

What are your thoughts?

Do you also have personal experiences of not getting enough help for your mental health issues and being subjected to insults like AnuradhaRa?

Is there at least phone counselling?

those so called religious leaders are supposed to be mental health councillors of some sort.but they are the biggest maniocs.

I think lots of bad things happen in Sri Lanka could stop, if we look at each other with love, kindness and compassion.

We all should practice great virtues such as patience, selflessness, generosity etc., This is what happens in the developed world. There's love for the environment. People take their jobs seriously with duty of care.

In the developed world children are taught that we are all equal. That every job is a job. To respect the females as equal beings.

Sri Lanka used to be a great country once because people used to look at each other with kindness, compassion and generosity.

We users of EK should resort to not using filth to get our point across.

Anything could be convinced with kind words.
