Arguments in Favour of Ravana

While often thought of mainly as the infamous 10-headed demon, Ravana was also a notable scholar of the Vedas.

A not widely known metaphorical interpretation of Ravana's having ten heads is that the heads are a symbolic way to show the world about his knowledge. He was fully aware of the contents of the six Shastras. His knowledge of the six Shastras as well as his knowledge of the four Vedas, ten Holy Scriptures in all, is by this interpretation considered the inner meaning of the belief that Ravana had ten heads. He even knew that Ram was Narayana (Lord Vishnu) himself, who had come in human form.

However, since there was no other way for him to reach to Narayana, he had to cultivate wanton wickedness, violence and hatred, and invite Ram to kill him. Of course, this might be called a type of devotion that is stupid and infamous. But his inner aim was to cross the ocean of birth and death, through that act of self abnegation and surrender to Narayana.

Ravaana was known for his virility and his aggressive conquests of women. Ravana had several wives, foremost of whom was Mandodari - daughter of Mayasura and an apsara named Hema.

Mandodari was renowned for her wisdom and grace as well as beauty and chastity. She is often compared to Sita, the most beautiful woman described in Indian spiritualism[citation needed].Ravana did not have any special in women. The first was the encounter with the sage-woman Vedavati. Vedavati had been performing penance with the intention of winning Lord Vishnu as her husband. Ravana met her at her hermitage, her beauty enhanced by the austerities she had performed. He proposes to her and is rejected. Ravana mocks her austerities and her devotion to Vishnu; finding himself firmly rejected at every turn, he tries to molest Vedavati, pulling her hair. This greatly incensed her, and she forthwith cut off her hair, and said she would enter into the fire before his eyes, adding, "Since I have been insulted in the forest by thee who art wicked-hearted, I shall be born again for thy destruction." So she entered the blazing fire, and celestial flowers fell all around. It was she who was born again as Sita, and was the moving cause of Ravana's death, though Rama was the agent.

Vedavati is said to have been reborn as Sita, causing Ravana's death and winning Vishnu (as Rama) as her husband.

Former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean says she lost her crown because of a comment she made about gay marriage and not because she had been skipping appearances.

Prejean told Matt Lauer on NBC'S "Today" show Friday that she "absolutely" had been dethroned because of the comment, Mad Men complete series, Nip Tuck box set, Desperate Housewives box set, Nip Tuck dvd set, Desperate Housewives collection, when she said marriage should be between a man and a woman.
Prejean lost her title Wednesday after the California pageant's executive director said Prejean was skipping Miss California USA events while speaking out against gay marriage at unsanctioned appearances.
Prejean denied that and calls her firing a set up. She says "tolerance needs to be a two-way street."
Prejean was replaced by the Miss California pageant's first runner-up, Miss Malibu Tami Farrell.

The Forbes collection of miniature vintage toy soldiers and boats — from kings and queens to luxury ocean liners and warships — is going on the auction block in December.

The charming collectibles have been on view for 25 years in a series of dioramas and vignettes in the lobby of the Forbes Magazine Fifth Avenue headquarters in Greenwich Village.
Totaling 7,500 pieces crafted from the 1870s through the 1950s, they will be sold in 250 lots on Dec. 17 at Sotheby's. They are expected to bring $3 million to $5 million.
Among the highlights is a 37-inch-long replica of the Cunard Line's Lusitania ocean liner complete with two lead seamen, a seated passenger and five pairs of lifeboats. The magazine's late publisher, Malcolm Forbes, paid $28,600 for it at a Sotheby's auction in 1983. At the upcoming auction, the vintage toy is estimated to bring $100,000 to $200,000.
A cast-iron French gas-powered armored gunboat with zinc and bronze details is the largest toy in the collection. Forty-seven inches long, it is a replica of a 19th century battleship and the only known example of its kind, Sotheby's told The Associated Press in announcing the sale. It could bring $200,000 to $300,000.
The assortment of tiny boats is endless, including submarines and a Venetian-style gondola, manufactured in tin and cast iron by noted German toy makers Bing, Desperate Housewives 1-7 dvd, Carette, Fleischmann and Marklin.
Among the toy soldiers — by toy makers Britains, Heyde, Mignot and Elastolin — is a rare group of 27 handmade Medieval mounted knights from the early 20th century that could bring $15,000 to $25,000.
Company Vice President Robert Forbes said he and his brothers decided to part with the collection to give "others a chance to own them, collect them, and maybe even wind them up on a pond or pool and watch them go."
The family auctioned a selection of the tiny toys four years after Forbes' death in 1990, bringing a total of $393,415 at Sotheby's. What's left — including inch-high Aztecs and conquistadors, Desperate Housewives 1-7, Indians surrounded by a stagecoach and fox hunters — is being sold in December.
Forbes' founder B.C. Forbes started buying toy boats when his sons were young. Many years later his son Malcolm took over the family business — and the toy-buying tradition.
A savvy entrepreneur who lived large, Malcolm Forbes' passions extended to motorcycling, ballooning, Nip Tuck dvd box set, Nip Tuck on dvd, sailing and collecting — most famously Faberge eggs. Miniature toys were added to his collecting in 1973 when he spotted an antique toy boat at FAO Schwartz that reminded him of the ones he had as a child. He bought it and a lifelong collection was started.
"It's clear to me that it was the nostalgia more than anything else that sparked both the toy boat and the toy soldier collections — the warm, embracing memories of the endless fun we had with them," he said in an 1989 article.
The Faberge eggs, which for years were exhibited alongside the miniature collectibles at the Forbes Galleries, Mad Men box set 1-4, were purchased in 2004 for an undisclosed sum by a Russian businessman two months before they were to be auctioned at Sotheby's.
Also for sale from the Forbes collection is the earliest homemade Monopoly board game known to have survived. Complete with the original set of rules, it is estimated at $60,000 to $80,000.

    Dear all'

i'm newly registered to Elakiri, but not new to elakiri as i have been reading your posts for the last few years. I strongly believe in king Ravana, ans feel very sorry for the true history kept hidden from us. & extremely interested in Vimana technology. if we can prove Ravana's Aircraft technology was true, that will prove existence of grate civilisation.
we know vimanika shastra is a translation of Hela aircraft technology written by Asura(Hela) in to Sanskrit& later to English. i found this. http://www.world-mysteries.com/sar_7.htm and http://arunrajaak.blogspot.com/, it clearly says K R N SWAMY remembers Shivkur Bapuji Talpade, built mercury vortex engine and built an aircraft from vimanika shastra & later British took it. it's no wonder USA built TR3B in 1998, sure they have built more Hela Vimanas with this technology
