A special programme that explains why the best music videos were selected by the judges and “Winds of Uva” from “Funeral in Heaven” was selected as the best music video 2010. This is a two episode programme and the final will be telecast on 12th November 2010 @ 7:00 PM on Derana TV Channel.
I think this will be a great educational programme for newcomers to the industry and for those who are in the industry, including the ones who are earning millions by way of quick buck by just copying something from the foreign music videos and repeating the same montage in all their music videos using techno and glamour gimmicks.
I’m very happy about this new trend that would come to this creative industry even at a later stage. Since we don’t see any creative work or meaningful things in Sri Lankan music video industry at present rather than using it as a money spinner.
