What is the "Aperture Size" Of a AGP VGA?

The Aperture Size setting is available in the BIOS in the Advanced Chipset Options menu.
It can be set to 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, and 256MB.

What is this setting?
What does it do?

AGP Aperture size + VGA memory = total maximum video memory.

Generally it is kept at 128MB. 256MB doesn't yield any performance benefits.

Not applicable to PCI-E cards.
