around myself..
Existence is made to exist...
It is not only we sense... every living thing...
perhaps everything in the existence sense..
Sense is there to made us exist...
Living things feel hungry so that they should eat and exist.
Every sense has an existentional need..
to evolve or to protect oneself.
Existence provided them to continue existence.
We get attached to the sensations...
and prolong our existence faster than any other living creature
or
we practice upeksha toard sensations
and shorten the Bhava.. existence...
thus reducing suffering
because
existence is established on suffering.

Dukkhehi pathitthito loko.

minor change, there no such thing as existence. awareness of existence is just an illusion which is created by the unawareness of our allured consciousness(dont use mind here)

well bro , if you ask , who are we ? why are we here ? what is this all about ..
the answer is "All are various changes of the energy."

you are another Reaction of an Energy ,

the energy never dies we born and we die , but the energy lives ,now if you can understand what is this energy and how it reacts , which means you understood the way ...
what you feels , sadness , happiness and every thought is another way of a reaction ,
as an energy you cant hold happy energy which we really want to , we die but energy reacts again and again, we call it suffering
we can guide this energy how to hold happiness energy (heaven ),or nirvana , which means none , energy react for a reason when there's nothing when there's no reason to react ,energy doesn't react again and again anymore ,
Buddhism guides you to do that , knowledge is the most astounding thing ever ,

watch this video , :):):):)

Buddhism is philosophy with set of guidelines :)
I don't think it is not segregated according to sex or state of the person.

Fundamental fact of buddhism is 4 noble truths.
    1. Ordinary life brings about suffering
    2. The origin of suffering is attachment
    3. The cessation of suffering is attainable
    4. There is eightfold path to cessation of suffering

Its pathetic to see most of Sri lankan Buddhists don't understand this, all they want is to worship and seek for salvage.

    ඇයි එන්නද ?
NOTE : This is in the PRO section. No silly one liners, nonsense posts or smilies allowed here.

    What exactly is Buddhism ?
Not discussing about the history, legends, fables or culture here.

What is considered to be the true Buddhism ?
Is it segregated according to sex ? if so, how and what ?
Is it segregated according to state of the person (ordained / not ordained) ? if so, how ?

If possible, please try to keep the discussion in English.

All answers says something about Buddhism according to their understanding. I suggest you (Kosandpol) to read Buddha's teaching directly and make your own definition. I can help if you are really interested.

This is how I understand the Buddhism. If its wrong pls correct me.
According to the current scientific theories. Energy cannot be create & cannot be destroyed.
So the only person who discovered how to create and and destroy energy is LORD BUDDHA. Inside our body we have the operating system called soul. This is the thing going around the SANSARAYA. That's why lord buddha told "Me shariraya winasha wena sului kiyala. But our soul never dies. To destroy this soul we have to go to nirvanaya. In old days buddhas teached collect PIN and dont do PAW. These are the ways how to increase our energy. Every animal have a energy for his soul. Ex-: Human has a energy around 50 - 60/ Animals has 50-40/ Yaksha 40-0/ Deviyan 60-80/ - We we doing paw our energy will reduced. If we do PIN our energy will rise. End of the life. There will be a balance energy. According to this our soul will go to the right place.

If im wrong pls correct me

Buddhism is a religion based on the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama.

****And although Buddhist teachings should not be accepted on blind faith, understanding what the Buddha taught is an important part of that discipline.

For ex, the foundation of Buddhism is the Four Noble Truths. The Truths are:

    -The truth of suffering (dukkha)
-The truth of the cause of suffering (samudaya)
-The truth of the end of suffering (nirhodha)
-The truth of the path that frees us from suffering (magga)
