and java has much more backward competibility than .NET. If you build application with VS2005, you can't execute in VS2008 so its very difficult to use.

yeah that is a major disadvantage!!!! bt there is a option to convert so u can use it but reverse is not possible...2008------>2005

Java and C# are very similar (Concept and Syntax wise). and they both use JIT compilers.

Personally I believe C# is more powerful than JAVA.

But as a whole, you can't compare C# and JAVA. Coz they both have pros and cons like interoperability, platform dependency, distributed architecture etc.

yep i agree with you....platform dependancy is the major disadvantage in c# as i knw..Bt it is done purposely by microsoft...
