No, I wasn't asking you why you haven't used one before. You had written the exact opposite in that message.

You know, I need to buy some good quality DVDs to backup my data. I haven't backed up my Music, and few game ISOs.

    Where I'm now
Are there 8.5GB blank DVDs in our earth?
then do we have them here in Sri Lankan market?
In Places like Unity Plaza , MC , Liberty, etc..?
Where can i buy them @ a cheap low price?
[2 months ago there was some german dvds each was 700 rs.But they were barcoded dvds!!! too the pack is also barcoded]
If there rnt 8.5 GB DVDs we r so unlucky.

Yep, it's good. I've also used it. There are some dos apps too. I bought a cd labelled Actual Data Recovery, it had a lot of recovery related apps, it also bootable. It had apps to virus scan, check disk errors, recover files, write files to cd's(didnt try) and browse the disk on DOS mode.

There are Dual Layer DVDs for purchase. The last time I asked the price them, they were expensive than a 10 DVD+R pack of Mitsubishi Chemical disc. No point hunting for them. Besides, the write quality is not so good compared to DVD+/-R.

Why the hell do you think we are unlucky if they are not available for purchase?

There aren't any such blank DVDs. Maybe huge collections like Lord of the Rings trilogy would come in them. Not sure what the applications are.

Yup GTR.. Ontracks Easyrecover is the best... I have used it earlier n retrieved some files which got accidently deleted.. chances of recovery vary depending on whether that area is re-written with data again though.. then again.. itz alwayz safe not 2 install any new software/dload stuff until ya recover that data..
