I'll recomend you first tryout a live CD of Linux. Knoppix is the big one out there. Also slax is good. Then you can try a real desktop linux version. Oh I forgot, you can try ubuntu as a live CD too. (Live CD - just put the cd in your cd/dvd drive and boot from it. Use linux as you like and quit - no changes will be done to your hard drives)

    I don't know because I don't use it. :D
I don't like image editing, but if I want to do small such tasks, I use paint .net :D (64bit goodness )

yes bro.. can you help me???

    Aa macho thats easy ,

Just remember the drive that your current OS is

Restart your pc and keep on pressing the delete button F2 or...... when your bios is loading (to goto your bios menu)

there set your first boot option to CDROM (remember the first boot option and better if you can select the second boot option also)

After you log into your current os Put the CD in to the drive of the os you wanna install

And restart again, now your comp will boot using the CD

After the boot you will see a simple dos menu , read the instructions given there
Dont select repair, just install the os as a fresh copy

When the program prompt you to select the drive that you wanna installl your new os , choose any drive that has enough space and intead of the drive that your previous one is installed

follow the instructions and you are done

its just as easy as that

Bt you cannot install an older version windows on a new version (even you are dual booting) eg : Windows 98 after Windows XP

First install the older versin then the new one

And theres another litttle problem too , I think you cannot install Windows after linux or the reverse procedure . bt it doesnt matter if it fails you only have to redo it in the other way, no harm.

    However try installing Windows first

lol you are all microsoft
I don't care for the company...If Adobe had a better product, which is less complex for general use and of course with 64bit support, I would have used it. As per user claims, Paint .Net's filtering performance superior to Photoshop because of 64bit-ness. Stupid Adobe! This is one area they could have excelled with 64bit Photoshop...

And Paint .Net is not a Microsoft product. It is only developed by a Microsoft personnel, independently and as a hobby. Microsoft doesn't support the project.

I do a bit of graphics editing. Not seriously, but as a hobby. When I was new to computers, I installed various graphics software and also photoshop. I hated photoshop due to it's complexity and got hooked up with fireworks (by Macromedia, but now Adobe), later around I scratched with photoshop again and now I'm hooked permanently. I feel like I can't get used to other graphics programs (GIMP even). I really like the powerful layer editing features in photoshop, there is still no match to it windows or non windows, or 32bit or 64bit.

I knew about paint.net, but didn't have the .net platform to get it working. I was bored to installed .net platform, so as a result paint.net never came to my computer. It's a good thing if microsoft includes paint.net default with their OS. It has layer support and some features eventhrough its miles behind photoshop.

I think maybe adobe is finding it difficult to go optimizing their software for 64bit. If you are going to release a 64bit version people expect it to be optimized and perform better than a 32bit version. Since adobe can't do that, they keep quite to save their name.

Does vista have any graphics editor with layers and channels support or is it still good ol paint

    Vista's only got paint :D

Since I don't do graphics editing, I don't have a problem with paint .net's capabilities. There are amazing things you can do with it, once you play around with it. (I can't, btw :D) There is a forum with lots of tutorials for it.
