What's Best Brand 4 Digital Cameras?

I wana buy a cam very soon.....

digital pocket cam or a dslr ?
as far as i think there are no best brands
every brand has its own pros and cons
but normally above three brands are consider as gd brands
sony is having problems when taking low light shots (im using a sony cam)
canons are little bit slower
i think nikon would be a gd choice
(these things applies only for a pocket cam and not for dslr)

if its a compact 1 go for a one can use
AA batteries (Rechargeables)
SD card,
have a quite big Sensor + a good optical Zoom 5X.....
