    yeah ..:) think ill watch platoon too...
    but what the hell was with that wedding scene? that prolonged the movie unnecessarily, it was interesting and eventful though...im reading reviews now ..
    Read the book to fully understand the story.

    The novel has been written after the movie was made. So the novel is fully based on the movie and not the other way around. While the general story is exactly the same as the movie, the novel expands a bit on the subplots and backgrounds so that it actually has enough words and pages to pass off as a complete novel.

    Its called novelization. Part of the movie franchise. Almost all major movies has this. Novels, extended novels, comics even.

    For example : Indiana Jones movies, Star Wars, Jaws series all have novels based on the screen play.
