difference maybe Hugh Laurie. He's an accomplished actor and his performance is simply brilliant.I like dexter but for me somethings much more unique seems to be there in House. I don't know exactly which. I love Dexter. Dexter is brilliant though the season 5 wasn't up to exception following a brilliant season 4. Hope they'd do better on Season 6.
In houses case, he's a sarcastic genius who hates humanity but wants to find some way in to the people's lives as well
I remember in season 6 seeing an episode where he hired Dr.Foreman' felon brother as an assistant much to Foreman's dismay, to give the brothers a chance to connect. He actually played the antagonist in that episode, but finally the two brothers being reconnected again due to a master scenario carried out by House.
While Micheal Hall is doing a first rate job as an emotionless psychopath who pretends to have emotions, the somewhat wooden nature of the character can get a bit boring. Hugh Laurie on the other hand, portrays a range of emotions which makes his character a lot more interesting.
