OK let me see,WOW this is an absolute master pies great performance by the cast specially by Kirsten Dunset.
surprisingly their is not any single nomination for this in Oscar but to me it should at least deserve a nomination.
Only downward thing in this is that shaky camera movement otherwise overall a great one.This movie is highly underrated in IMDB it should deserve over 8/10.

BTW actually Kirsten dunset was taken medication for depression in 2008.

Freaking love this film definitely in my top favorites. and no other film has ever depicted depression on cinema like this one has.. had some mind blowing scene. if you've ever been depressed (not occasional sadness) this film would hit you right in the heart.

remember the scene where Kirsten dunst is naked, lying on a bank of a stream, exposing herself to the dim light of Melancholia, sorta bathing herself in its light...that scene alone makes this film a masterpiece of cinematic art..
that scene alone say, how much she(the depressed) wish for the impending doom...

Not only the actress, also Lars von trier (director) has been diagnosed with mood disorders afaik. but somehow his films are the best.

if you haven't seen it yet, please watch Breaking the waves from the same director, it has one of the best acting jobs by anybody ever and a great story. and an ending that sends chills down your spine

Well, everyone must have heard about this if not watched. Great acting, great directing, fine film. There's no arguing how influential this movie has been. It's a greatness one must witness and a classic everyone must watch before they die.

Just watched. Ha! it was hilarious. If Pulp Fiction and The Good the bad the ugly had a baby this would be it. Reminds me why I hate war again. War is inhuman and disgusting no matter what. As film shows no one loses or wins in the end. Everyone fails at someway or another.
I don't need to recommend this, I guess all know about this already.
