that's your personal opinion and you are entitled to it

mine is something similar but there's no buddhism in it. I just think that movie says how we have become slaves to a world full of stuff we don't need to survive just for the sake of commercialism and owing so much to machines and computers, note the fact that neo is a computer programmer and honestly computer programmers are like modern day slaves...the matrix, the virtual reality created by all that to keep us slaves to the system in order to provide fuel for its own futuer and goodwill in the movie can be interpreted by modern day human who take up office jobs and other shitty jobs that don't matter just to uphold commercialism..I mean seriously do we need half the things we care so much for today for our survival? all the fancy foods and fancy clothes and furniture ? but we choose to over-work worrying about shit that don't matter cos we can buy shit we don't need (I'm kind of quoting tyler durden from fight club here)...but once they were out of matrix, everything becomes minimalistic in their ship..they eat something essencial to survival ..everybody wears same sorta clothes and worry about other human who are trapped in the matrix and the machines who control the world..its all metaphorical as to the world we live in ..and main elements that buddhism talk about however are not there at least in my humble opinion...I repeat, again matrix is one of the finest movies of our generation just for its theme that is a accurate portrayal of the world we live in today.
