Mars-Deimos-Phobos
2001 a space odyssey

Marveled by the talent of director to manipulate characters and giving so much realism to the movie

904.jpg

Nowadays many of of the scenes in this movie wud be nothing but back in 1968 ?
I cant even begin to explain how did they ever manage to create such a settings

Book is obviously way better than the movie (assuming this is the same book of C cleark which had been translated to sinhala as 2001)

Shitload of details had been omitted and some scenes are way too long

I strongly suggest give this one a big miss and at least try reading the Sinhala translation :)
However if anyone interested despite this is rotten old 1968 still there damn good quality BRrips to be downloaded in public torrent sites :)

Specially how that tiger attack the monkey
    Rotating studios
All the visual effects are so much real

Hell yeah Im the worst at garbing visual implications such as Machinist I admit :oo:

The book was written after the movie was made so ofcause all the sub plots, explanations that was left out in the movie were explored in the book. Thats why the book 'seems' to be better.
The movie leaves a lot of things open ended.

The Cassandra Crossing's imdb rating, 6.1, seems very low to me as it's another good movie. Which I first saw it late eighties. Still I like it and i would rather rate 7.5.

Probably cause it was not so great considering the heavy weight names in the movie.

The book also covers in detail what happens when Bowman entered the portal and it has an explicit ending.

    upon purple clouds

A story should be filled with

    - lilbit of philosophy . Even if its a fantasy it shuld leave something spectator to think of the world around us. Ex :- Minority Report,Matrix, and any movie of Christopher Nolan

    - Actions,smartness Ex :- Taken, Oceans,Body of Lies

    and of coz
    - excitement

I ve seen many of the of the element in this movie too except smartness and philosophy

At the end of coz its just a personal opinion :)

you didn't see philosophy in that movie cos that movie didn't serve you philosophy on a plate like children of men or matrix did (not that i think those movies are bad) ..
that is the smartness of that movie. go watch it again when you are bit older. and blade runner wasn't fantasy it was sci fi.

secondly, by pre determining the qualities you expect from a movie, you are doing a terrible wrong to yourself..that way you tend to see or get only those things that you already expected from a movie rather than taking wut the movie truly has to offer... that is wut they mean when they mention "open mind" ..just a tip to improve your taste :P
