Rashomon

One of Kurosawa's art housey works from 1950 (its a black and white movie). The minimalism and very little use of background music makes the acting even more profound. It pays homage to silent movies as well. Great acting by the main cast.
This movie is extremely significant as its it created a new concept in movie making where a story is told by multiple people with multiple points of view where the viewer has to decide which version is the correct one. This style is used widely in later movies and TV shows.

Re watched science fiction horror classic ..

The Thing (1982)-John Carpenter ..IMDB 8.2/10 My rating 85%
One of the best by john carpenter along with Halloween (1978)

Confessions ... kinda over-rated and felt like a ripoff of park chan wooks vengeance trilogy, but vengeance trilogy did it way better..
btw, most accessible jap movie I've seen ..generally they are much slower paced than this

this movie didn't really succeed in getting the 'sympathy for lady vengeance'...

now I feel like watching sympathy for Mr. Vengeance again..now that's the mother of all revenge movies.
