Gangs of New York (2002) by Martin Scorsese is the first great film i watched on dvd back in 2003..and it really changed my appetite..

Director John McTiernan has directed fabulous movies including action masterpiece Die Hard (1988) and Predator (1987)

only issue is the Russian having a Irish accent
This is a pretty good adaptation of the Novel. Next best adaptations of Tom Clancy's works are Air Force One and Sum of All Fears.
