ya but, not that much close to David lynch's movies i guess.good movie but not
Daron Aranofsky's best i agree.

surreal sequences and lost identities kept reminding me of lynch movies
but somehow this film did not seem very original to me.

ya surreal sequence itself is not original i believe ."beautiful mind" to "black swan" hallucination is the word ..but shutter island is an exception.

shutter island was fun to watch, but nothing i'd remember in a few months, see even now I don't remember much about it but I think black swan is better than shutter island.

Faster

Could've easily been made in to a neo noir movie. The movie is all too predictable.
Rock's pretty good at playing "pissed off intense" and he plays it well here. He badly needed more lines in the movie and a lot more physical aggression! He's the Rock for heaven's sake! Let the guy Layeth The Smack Down upon his enemies! Just shooting everyone really doesnt make must sense when the (anti) hero is 6"5' and 275 pounds of muscle which is prominently displayed at every shot of him.
.This was not a 70s minimalistic hard boiled crime type of movie even though the setup with the cast identified only by the profession made it look like one.
Billy Bob Thornton was ok but it was the guy who played the hired killer that really gave an interesting performance.
Good action flick. Even though its only one hour forty minutes, you don’t feel that the movie is rushed.
