one of the rare occasions...

we lost even sana made a century... the belief is sana ta 100k wadunoth match eka goda...

Both of them just went for lazy shots, the HEAT got the better of them, had that match was a day-nighter I'm sure the score would have been way over 280.. and what the Heck Mahela was doing so down at the batting order?

Mahela should stick at number 4. No use of hiding from problems. the only way u can win over them is to face them head on.. The thing with mahela was, he was struggling against swing bowling.. hes a great batsman.. he only has to get his eye back in.. we know that its not gonna swing much in the premadasa.. so hes should come early in the order..

after watching kandambi play for a few matches i have this odd feeling that hes really struggling against pace bowling..

If only chamara silva was back in form.. he was the chocolate ice cream if cricket was food

As they say - - Cricket is a "CONFIDENCE" game. If you lack it, you try to push your self down the order. That has worked for some players. But in this case- - -I'm not so sure.

Hmm yeah well I dont like to see this poor form of Mahela affecting his captaincy.. its kind of showed in that last game too.. didn't really attack much towards Indians.. etc. anyway hopefully he will come good in Colombo, hate to see Mahela loosing his captaincy!

what u think of chamara kapugedaras contribution to the lower order??

Nothing special really, he is a good natural player.... all look good on paper till they go out there, because its results that does matter at the end of the day... in that sense I feel Maharoof has exceeded expectations... people never expected him to be the savior but he has done it now in many occasions!!

Its the perfect spot for him but i have the feeling that his abilities are being wasted there.
he has the ability to go for the big shot.. in the event of total collapse he can also play a subdued recovery innings too..

If i was the selectors for the team.. my team will be

    sana
    dilshan
    sanga
    mahela
    kapu
    jehan (this is the gamble)
    maha
    thushara
    nuwan
    mendis
    murali

but hes not upto the job in the bowling department.. Lets look at the problem here in another way..

India starts bowling with Zaheer khan and Munaf patel.. both good "pace bowlers" their first change in bowling is for Ishant Sharma who is a total assassin with the new bowl (we saw this in the CB series)

we start bowling with Nuwan (Below 130kmph) and thushara.. our first change is Maha(also below 130 bowler)

those below 130 mark wont do us any good in flat pitches with the likes of Gambhir/dhoni in the opposition

well.. chamara needs more time. what will happen if he exchange his position with mahela?? i meant 2 down. ;)
hv seen the way he bats. he has some built in fire power..
but den mahela will be hopeless. he nly plays well in that position.

in maharoof case.. he needs to emerge as a bowler. more than now. by giving him a position we loose a pace bowler. if malinga returns to the team again.
i think maha gonna loose his place. since he hasn't proven him self as a bowler yet.
though hes a good all rounder.

bro. kapuwa still 21. so he needs to get as much as batting as possible. he hasnt let us down lyk tharanga. he will emerge as a must batsmen in our batting line pretty soon.

but in this selection wheres lasith malinga??
im not so sure about jehan either. i think kandambi is better than him.
