Why did Land cruiser 300 drop the V8 engine?

There is a growing demand for the old V8 100, 200 Land cruisers after the new V6 300. :D

lankawe gong bayoo hithana widiha thama. the new v6 is more powerful than the previous v8.. for example.. toyota allion 1.5 engine vs 1000 cc turbo suzuki swift engine.. power in the 1000cc is really good.. and i m sure the v6 must weight less than the old v8 ..so it will affect the pick up and the fuel efficeny..

issara formula 1 walath ehema ne.. v10 thibba..dan v6 hybrid engine patta fast parana engine walata wada.. barath nah.

    There could be many reasons:

** meeting strict emissions requirements are easier with a smaller (e.g. V6) turbo

    ** R & D costs are recovered quicker because a V6 can be used in many different models/platforms compared to a big/heavy V8

** Apart from the noise and maybe a bit extra long-term reliability (this is highly subjective), there`s nothing that a V8 can do better than a newer well designed V6 (more power, more torque, better emissions, smoother running etc... )

** With a V6 platform, it`s more simpler to offer a hybrid powertrain
