I want us South Asians to be a union like the European Union. Despite our rivalry against each other, we share a very similar culture. Our foods, religions, and customs are the same. Once Europeans fought each other, it went on massive scale, hence called world wars, but they became a union. So why can't we do the same?

Actually the India - Pakistan bitter rivalry is hindering the entire region and its cooperation. Otherwise, such a cooperation would be priceless.

There will be no unity in South Asia as long as India exists. EU works because there's no single country that can control the union (although Germany and France keep trying and so was UK, until Brexit).
If there was a Union, India will need to compromise on its power and will not let it happen. That's the reason why South Asian Federation is dormant.
