Windows:7 The next windows??!!

The next windows??
Windows: Call it 7
Check diz out...

Windows 7 (previously codenamed Blackcomb and Vienna) is scheduled to be the next major version of Microsoft Windows, expected to be the successor of Windows Vista.Microsoft has announced that it is "scoping Windows 7 development to a three-year timeframe", and that "the specific release date will ultimately be determined by meeting the quality bar."The client versions of Windows 7 will ship in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions, even though the server counterpart (which will succeed Windows Server 2008) will be exclusively 64-bit.

Windows 7 will get a facelift, but the extent of the UI changes are not yet known at Microsoft: current Windows 7 builds, which we have seen, use the Vista interface.

With Windows 7, even the boot screen hasn't been designed yet. Currently, when Windows 7 boots, it displays a stylized "7" taking up most of the screen, drawn like an artist's quick sketch with thin lines using the Windows logo colors.

The first known build of Windows 7 was identified as a "Milestone 1 (M1) code drop" has a version number of 6.1.6519.1 according to various reports. It was sent to key Microsoft partners by January 2008 in both x86 and x64 versions.

Though not yet confirmed by Microsoft, reviews and screenshots have been published by various sources. Features described include Gadgets being integrated into Windows Explorer, a Gadget for Windows Media Center, the ability to visually pin and unpin items from the Start Menu and Recycle Bin, improved media features and a new XPS Viewer. Reports also indictate that a feedback tool included in Windows 7 lists some coming features: the ability to store Internet Explorer settings on a Windows Live account, new versions of Calculator, Paint and WordPad that use Windows Presentation Foundation, and a 10 minute install process. UI changes are expected to appear in later builds of Windows 7
And this OS also will feature the Microsofts new WinFS technology...
WinFS (short for Windows Future Storage) is the code name for a data storage and management system based on relational databases, developed by Microsoft and first demonstrated in 2003 as an advanced storage subsystem for the Microsoft Windows operating system, being designed for persistence and management of structured, semi-structured as well as unstructured data. WinFS includes a relational database for storage of information, and allows any type of information to be stored in it, provided there is a well defined schema for the type. Individual data items could then be related together by relationships, which are either inferred by the system based on certain attributes or explicitly stated by the user. As the data has a well defined schema, any application can reuse the data; and using the relationships, related data can be effectively organized as well as retrieved. Because the system knows the structure and intent of the information, it can be used to make complex queries that enable advanced searching through the data and aggregating various data items by exploiting the relationships between them.

And guys ...I advice y'all to not to trouble urselves looking for a Windows7 torrent cos it has not yet been released to "pirate" community...It’s no surprise that the image of Windows 7 developer build or not will show up at some time, I wouldn’t waste any DVD-media burning it or broadband downloading it. I’m not sure it’s worth the time.

I dont think its a next one.
I think its a Editoed one or SP1
y the win version 6 means it's a VISTA....

macho...this is not an edited version of VISTA or a service pack.

It looks like VISTA coz it is still in the developing stage..Microsft is planning use the same user interface and most of the VISTA code into to Windows7 aka Vienna/Blackcomb.
But there will be massive improvements over the VISTA in this..
Such as Internet Explorer 8,New digital media features, the new WinFS filesystem and will bundle in multi-touch features like those found in the iPhone and Microsoft's own Surface.
Those screencaps i posted is from “a smaller, more finite release,” of this new OS. And dont expect it to be a big bang like Vista.

Think of it as the release of Windws98 after Windows95....visually same but more powerful inside!

Microsoft eka officially announce karala thiyena vidihata meka release date eka thiyenna 2009 vala...lets wait and see.....:)
