Windows vs Linux (the truth)

This is taken from Microsoft training material meant for promoting Windows 7 to Bestbuy employees. Eventhough they have taken it bit far, I agree with most of Microsoft’s statements.
Ok, Linux has a better design, and maybe it can even be considered secure than Windows (highly debatable though...). But in usability and compatibility aspects it sucks BIG TIME. I support Linux and use it, but it is not the layman's operating system, PERIOD!

there are a group of people who wants things to be done in the easy way. people want to concentrate on the work, not where they are doing the work.

me too use linux, but i dont like linux windows comparisons, cos they are two different OS mainly focused two different type of users.

the best is always depends on the user and what is it being used for....

for a gamer, choosing linux is one stupid thing. cross over office and virtualization isnt going to be happening. no one need to make their games open source, cos they got no pain to develop games for free.

usability is also important. linux is good if you are a computer geek. windows is designed to work with less troubles and is very user friend and noob friendly as well.

apps designers are making them to earn from them, so better apps with polished interface will be available for windows.

linux has its own advantages. these days, linux distros are struggling to replace windows by being unusually user friendly while some distros are decided to be natively linux by being "geek only" ex arch linux.

I don’t think Linux and Windows are targeting completely different user basses anymore. At least not when the new usability oriented distros like Ubuntu are concerned. In that comparison, MS is focusing on those so called *user friendly* linux distros bundled with Netbooks and Notebooks (not the server oriented variations).

thats simply misleading. its not the objective. if linux is a non-profitable thing whu they struggle?

i use my pc to do some audio production related works and then to play games! i cant do either of them on linux platform. i love linux. just because that i'm having it in my HDD.

So it is not fair to compare that product with applications in linux operating systems.
