It;s all in your head. You want Linux to be faster than Windows, and you feel that way. If you want other way round, you feel the other way round. After few days, you will feel whatever you are using is too slow, and will go back to the old one and feel this is WAY better than the other. Happens all the time :P

none of the OSes out there is good enough for me i'm afraid :/

lol no choice other than coding one for ourselves . . then we'll start complaining about the hardware.

I just feel better get one good OS out there and fine tune it to serve the purpose. Sometimes the best thing in the world is a dumb terminal, if the other end is connected to the fastest supercomputer on earth.

either way, OSX is a very cool platform, just with lack of support. the most important thing i like about it is that you just copy the executable to wherever you want, and you can launch it. maybe chaos in a managed area such as an office, but for home use, it is ideal.

    macho, honestly I don't know... I haven't tried re-mastering...

But I googled the error msg and came across 1 result.. a blog in French...

here goes the link to the translated page:

BTW, come back to the old place... it's active again... and I have put some news over there regarding a FOSS project in SL...

Dialog Wimax works fine on linux. I'm using Dialog Wimax on Debian Lenny.
Dialog is using PPPoE for their wimax connections so you need to install the PPPoE packages for your distro.
