Windows XP desktop problems

I have a problem with changing my desktop picture in windows XP.
It was working just fine but all of a sudden it won't let me choose a picture from the list when I go to properties>>desktop tab. I can't select the position for the picture or browse as well.
All I can do through the desktop properties window is change the desktop background color.

If this has anything to do with the virus guard I'm using, well I'm using Kaspersky 2009.

If anybody knows how to get this right please tell me.

Ohoma karanna bari nam picture eka right click karala show on desktop daapanko.

machan first download this file... (132KB)

goto C:\Windows\System32\
find Desk.cpl (control panel extension)
Backup that
Now Copy that downloaded file to System32 folder..
